I was asked to rebrand a friend’s logo for their business. The company specialises in retro computers, tabletop and handheld games as well as action figures, comics, annuals, etc.

A really fun brief, and definitely right up my street. Very happy with the outcome!

Lens Tests

Recently I got a couple bits of kit from a friend, including a Praktica MTL3 and a few screw on lenses. I thought I’d get a M42 to Canon adapter to see if they worked with my Canon. These are some of the test shots.

It took a wee while to get used to, but they both seem pretty good. The first was taken with a 50mm 2.8 and the second a 135mm 2.8

Oznacheniya (Signage in Bulgarian) was created during my winter break in Bulgaria. I really enjoyed the signage (Using the SNV typeface) around and wanted to create something inspired by that. While the final typeface is rather different from SNV, you can still see the characteristics of what I loved about it, such as the shape of the b d o p etc.

More re edits from older shoots. It seems a lot of my older work seems very suited to B&W, that or I’ve started to prefer the look or feel of B&W shots. A friend commented that the first shot had a ‘Bailey’ feel to it… which to me is pretty high praise considering he’s one of my all time favourites.

‘Bulgarian Harvest’

Something a little different from me. The initial design was inspired by a wood carving I saw in Bulgaria. I really wanted to try something which had a pattern or fabric feel which I think I’ve achieved.

I’ve a few ideas of a final outcome, one being screen printed onto wood as a larger piece, or also a larger (really large!) wall mural… which would be fun.

Anyway, would love to know people opinion on it!
